In 1993, the government established the “Polytechnic Staff Training Center” to train teachers in the fields of technology and engineering in the country, and changed its name to Tun Hussein Onn Polytechnic (ITH) three years later. The college is jointly managed by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTH) and the Ministry of Education, and is authorized to award bachelor’s degrees and diplomas from UTH.
